repeats "controlling station" two times. It seems this is a typo.

Change the phrase to
"To avoid excessive message exchanges, it is recommended that the controlled station interval and count be configured for twice the interval and count configured at the controlling station."
This avoids invalidation of the session keys at the controlled station before the controlling station is changing the session keys.
